Best in Savory | Chocolate Affair 2020

Last weekend, our Culinary Team had the opportunity to participate in the Chocolate Affair at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront by Healthcare For The Homeless, sponsored by CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield. We were one of many local restaurants that donated to the cause by providing an hor dourve for the guests during the cocktail hour.


Chef Dave created a Chocolate Chipotle BBQ Brisket Cornbread Slider that was a guest favorite! We served over 500 portions and were therefore awarded with Best in Savory.


The dish featured our classic cornbread and a slight spin on our brisket that we make every week, by adding chili powder and cocoa powder to our brisket rub. Chef Dave then made a custom chocolate chipotle bbq sauce to tie this dish into the Chocolate Affair theme.


Our team at the event consisted of Chef Dave, ur front of house manager Jen, our catering manager Marcie, and one of our hardest working employees, Laura!


We were swamped with guests coming to try the dish that all the other guests were talking about and with guests who were coming back for seconds and thirds. We were busy, but we had a ton of fun and we were glad we could be a part of this event for Healthcare For The Homeless. The unexpected award was much appreciated and was validation of a job well done!
