| Northeast Market is the largest public market in Baltimore, while it is not as famous as the Lexington and Cross Street Markets it is the only market with an actual farmer selling produce or poultry. |
 |

|
Shopping the stall format vs. the grocery store format is a traditional urban experience. Most of our customers go out of their way to trek to Northeast Market for the shopping experience where a reunion of old friends is a common experience. |
Quality, service and great prices keep our customers coming back. Many of our customers may not know that there is a large farm infrastructure behind our retail stall, they just know that six days a week, year round, the best produce and poultry is found on Monument Street. |
Just like our White Marsh store the poultry is displayed in refrigerated cases on ice, no prepack.
Many of our customers in Baltimore are bulk shoppers and we offer special 10 lb prices and case prices on many of our products. |

 |
We can cut or chop your purchases how you want them at no additional cost. |
Sure, we have all the standard poultry cuts and pieces, but we also have some more unusual things:
--Boneless skinless chicken thighs
--Whole boneless chicken breast that we can cut thinner into strips
--Turkey wing tips
--Turkey bacon and scrapple
--Turkey chops (like a pork chop, it is a cross section of a turkey breast)
--Turkey sausage links - several flavors
--Smoked turkey parts - necks, tails, wings, drums |

Our greens counter is the most known feature of our produce department, and it should be since we are the largest grower of greens in Maryland.
Collards, Kale, turnip top, mustard, smooth Kale, spinach, and water cress and bunched turnips in season. |
Sweet potatoes are a big draw for our customers; we always have the best sweet potatoes bought straight from the farmer!
Size matters with a sweet potato, which is why we give options. Also white sweet potatoes are often on our counter. |
In season we have a full line of vegetables from our farm, including sweet white corn, peppers, cukes, several types of tomatoes, okra, squash, and much more.
Local orchards provide us with great local apples, apple cider, and tree ripened peaches in season.
Mr. Richardson still walks the wholesale produce market around 3 AM to buy the best produce for our customers from around the world when it is not from our farm. |
Baltimore public Markets
The Baltimore public market system has survived since its inception and is now something that many other cities wish they could restart.
